ACTING PROJECTS
Night Of The Living Dead! The Musical! --
Directed by Mary Jo DuPrey

Role - Sheriff Tractor

A musical spoof of the 1968 classic, Night Of The Living Dead! The Musical was my first production after high school. This was my first real foray into musical theatre, and it was a blast! I played Sheriff Tractor, a zombie-killing cowboy who had his own set of dancers in daisy dukes (we also rode wooden hobby-horses...). This show really ignited my passion for musical theatre and was the first big event that pushed me towards becoming a performing arts major at Iowa State.
A Comedy of Errors --
Directed by Brad Dell
Iowa Stage Theatre Company
Role - First Merchant
2025

Shakespeare's A Comedy of Errors was a unique opportunity that I was grateful to be a part of. Iowa Stage Theatre Company collaborates with the Salisbury House and Gardens of Des Moines, IA, every year to put on "Shakespeare On The Lawn." An event where the entire production takes place on the outdoor lawn of a 1920s Tudor-style manor. It was a delight to be part of an event that is held with such reverence in the area, and even more so to be performing "Shakespeare in paradise," as our director says.

Urinetown --
Directed by Cason Murphy
Iowa State University
Role - Caldwell B. Cladwell

Urinetown: The Musical was an incredible way to start off my senior year at Iowa State. I had the privilege of playing the big bad, Caldwell B. Cladwell, a character whose anger is matched only by his cold calculations of water retention. This show had arguably the largest turnout in recent ISU Theatre history, with all performances, barring one, selling out. This show takes a hard look at class complacency, environmental struggles, and criticisms of capitalism, all with a nice coat of musical theatre parody paint. A show to remember for certain.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee --

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a show that has always held a special spot in my canon, thanks to its ability to blend humor with genuine emotion as it explores the perspectives of each child's life. Anti-social, neglected, expected to achieve, bored with achieving, competing for attention in the family dynamic, and Chip; each one of the kids has their own story (sad, bad, or happy) to tell about how they see the world. I think one of the most exciting aspects of the show is how directly involved the audience was in our performances, we drew select audience members every night to participate in the bee, and managing them and seeing their reactions was so much fun. This show is a barrel of laughs, and sobs.

Head Over Heels --
Co-Directed by Brad Dell and Laura Wuzell
Iowa State University
Role - Basilius

Head Over Heels is a show you watch when you need to have some fun. With music by the Go-Gos, this jukebox musical gave me my first lead in a musical, which had a big hand in giving me the encouragement I needed to pursue performing further. The dance sequences, the terrific design elements, and a hilarious book gave this show so much charm that I just couldn't forget it if I tried. It was a lot of fun, and let me learn it was okay to be serious about getting unserious.

John Proctor Is The Villain --
Directed by Tiffany Johnson
Iowa State University
Role - Carter Smith
2024
Photo Credit: Iowa State University College of LAS
John Proctor is The Villain was a very serious project, with such delicate subject matter and important messages that the show tries to convey, and the stories (and by proxy, people) it tries to represent, our rehearsal process contained a lot of discussion surrounding the world of the play and how these characters may have interacted in the past, and how they may interact in the future to really capture how this show could play out in the real-world, because this is a very real and very daunting story. We, as a cast and crew, were dedicated to navigating our own boundaries and taking care of each other throughout the process.

SHe Kills Monsters --

Role - Chuck

She Kills Monsters is a hilarious yet heartfelt show that brought me great joy throughout the rehearsal process. It's the show where I met my partner and made many of the friends I'm still in frequent contact with today. I can't thank the people who put this together enough for the kind of experience this was for someone still figuring out whether or not theatre was the right path for him, because this opened my eyes.
